Story Team Catering Products Competitions

In order to truly have confidence in your products, they need to go up against the very best.  It's one thing to just say "we make great barbecue", it's quite another to be able to show off the trophies that prove it.  We believe in the honest spirit of competition, and use the Barbecue Circuit as research and development for the products we serve and market.

We first tried our hand at competition n 2004 at Oinktoberfest BBQ Contest in Clarence, New York.  Originally, we were going to enter the Amateur Division, kina like dipping a toe into the water to see how warm it is...(Most people who know Mike know that this is definitely not his style).  Armed with the $200 entry fee for the Professional Division and a borrowed barbecue pit, we climbed to the top of the roof and did a cannonball into that inflatable pool of barbecue sauce!  During that weekend we learned the basics:

  1. Be Prepared.
  2. Formulate and follow the plan.
  3. Celebrate the successes, learn from the mistakes.
  4. At the end of the day, this whole spectacle is about having a good time.
